Walid Khan scores 1st Podium at Brno
13 June 2018

The 5th round of the World Supersport 300 championship was held on the beautiful Czech circuit Brno. The Nutec - Benjan - Kawasaki team was extremely motivated to achieve good results, we are proud that we have converted togheter with our riders this motivation to result!

Walid Khan feels more and more better at home on the fast Kawasaki Ninja 400, an adaptation to the clutch gave him a much better feeling and during the weekend he showed he could compete for the top rankings. He finished a perfect Superpole 2 as 4th and this starting position gave him a chance to compete for the podium. An incredibly exciting race, many changes in position but Walid was strong, very strong and fought his 2nd place in his favor. A strong end of the race was unfortunately ended by a red flag situation and Walid got his well deserved 2nd place and his 1st podium in this competative WorldSSP300 class!

Tommy Edwards had an ascending line during the weekend, the 16-year-old Australian rode a strong Warm Up which he closed as 10th. Due to some discomfort with other riders in the short superpole 1 of only 15 minutes he had to start as 21. Tommy has already shown to be an excellent starter and he also shot away like an arrow and was already fighting for the 8th position! Unfortunately, this strong advance already ended in the 1st round due to a crash caused by the jostling in the corners. Annoying that this happens to Tommy, but we as a team and also Tom are keen on revenge in Misano round (6-7-8 July)

In the Superstock 1000 our rider from Turkey Ali Efe Yegin gets better and better. He qualified amply on his Kawasaki Ninja ZX10RR and was confident for the race. Not yet on the starting grid arrived, the rain was pooring down extreme, also went this paired with some thunderstorms. Nothing appealed to Ali and at the start he flowed straight from the 21st starting place to the top 15. The race he built up well and the fight with Jan Buhn - BMW he ended in his favor, a well deserved 13th place was his part.

The Nutec - Benjan - Kawasaki team looks back with satisfaction at races in Brno. An interim scheduled test will soon be used to put all the dots on the i and be ready for the next round on the Misano circuit on the Adriatic coast.
